Yeah, I still check the forum for new posts every now and then, but like you said, this place is quite dead. I would love to post something and be more active, but new threads seem to be few and far between. I'm a sucker in creating new threads, so I'm of no use in that respect

Yeah, well, desperate times call for desperate measures Perhaps I need to keep my eyes open and appropriate a popular thread idea from another forums.
Anyway, I've been good, can't really complain. I didn't manage to get a summer job, so I've been just relaxing and enjoying the whole summer, charging up my batteries for the upcoming semester which is going to be interesting, to say the least. You see, during the spring term, I will be a student in the university of Glasgow. To my surprisement, I was selected to be an exchange student there I'm not sure of the schedules yet, but I surmise that spring term begins in early January, so I need to get my butt to Scotland in early January as well and spend the next 5 months there. I'm getting a bit nervous already...
So that's all I have to tell, how about you?

That sounds like a pretty damn good plan to me How close to Glasgow you live, and how well you know Glasgow in general? I'm both excited and a tad anxious since I've never been to UK before... Actually, hell, I've never been abroad before so everything will be new to me.
Congrats on the driving test! Have you done a road trip already?
What kind of music are you trying to write, by the way? Motivation seems to one thing we both lack at the time...

Sweet! What do you think of Glasgow as a city? All these sites I've visited that are about Glasgow mention how nice a place it is, and how the people are friendly and all. From your experience, is that how far from the truth? And are aware of any places or areas of Glasgow that are not so safe.
If things goes as we, 'we' as in the 4 exchange students who go to Glasgow (2 in Autumn, 2 in Spring), have planned, I may know the address of my apartment in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, it's not situated in the dodgiest areas of Glasgow
Damn, from what I've heard, Scotland would be a great place for a road trip. Plenty of beautiful places to go and see, not to mention all the pubs...

Glasgows amazing man, i love it there.. any and all shows i go to are in Glasgow.. and people are really friendly there.. provided you dont wear blue or green, and stay the HELL away from Parkhead.... as Glasgow is a football (soccer) centric city, and theres two rival teams.. rangers and celtic.. and.. well.. im sure wikipedia and encyclopedia dramatica can do a better job of explaining..
but yeah.. when you find out your address.. lemme know.. ill hopefully be able to tell you how close to a dodgy area it is.. but generally.. if you stay away from blue and green... you should be fine
as for road trips... its a pretty small place in general.. so they are not so much big road trips as days out.. but some of the scenery.. is awesome.. and the GIRLS! AWWW.. THE GIRLS!
haha..

I just got home from the Rockstar Mayhem Fest. Saw Korn, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb Of God, Chimaira, and Hatebreed! It was a great festival. It rained ALL day but nobody cared. Everyone moshed in the mud and the went crazy for their favorite bands. Chimaira by far had the best performance. Korn was headlining but Chimaira should have had the main stage instead, that's just how superior their stage presence is. I met the band too, bunch of fucking cool guys. The lead guitarist is doing a side project with members of Bleed The Sky, its called The Elite! Definitely check that shit out!
